What happens if H.R. 357, as amended, does not become law?
If the bill does not pass the House and Senate and is not signed by the President by March 31, 2014, the VRAP program will come to an end and veterans will not continue to receive VRAP benefits past that date.

The True Meaning of Lent
The True Meaning of Lent
According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, “the real aim of Lent is, above all else, to prepare men for the celebration of the death and Resurrection of Christ…the better the preparation the more effective the celebration will be.
The purpose of Lent is to provide that purification by weaning men from sin and selfishness through self-denial and prayer, by creating in them the desire to do God’s will and to make His kingdom come by making it come first of all in their hearts.”
God’s Holy Word, the only source of true spiritual knowledge and understanding (John 17:17).
First, understand that the “celebration of the death and Resurrection of Christ” to which the preceding quote refers is so-called “Good Friday” and “Easter Sunday”—holidays deeply rooted in ancient paganism.
Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread were observed by Christ, the original apostles and the New Testament Church—including Gentiles. God commands His people to observe them today (I Cor. 5:7-8).
No amount of fasting, abstaining from physical pleasures or any other form of self-denial can purify us.
Third, you cannot, of and by yourself, create within you “the desire to do God’s will.”
Only through a converted mind, actively led by the Holy Spirit, can God work “in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure” (Phil. 2:13). New International Version (NIV)

13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Believe it or not, Lent was never observed by Christ or His apostles. He commanded His disciples to “Go you therefore, and teach all nations…teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20). Jesus never commanded them to observe Lent or Easter.
Lent was not observed by the first century Church! It was first addressed by the church at Rome during the Council of Nicea in A.D. 325, when Emperor Constantine officially recognized that church as the Roman Empire’s state religion. Any other form of Christianity that held to doctrines contrary to the Roman church was considered an enemy of the state.

How God Acts When You Surrender
How God Acts When You Surrender
"...And that is what we should seek—to go on our faces before God, until our hearts learn to believe that the everlasting God Himself will come in to turn out what is wrong. He will conquer what is evil and work what is well-pleasing in His sight. God Himself will work it in you." per (Murray, 2013).
What I find interesting is that folks write a piece on the "greatness of God" what joy we can have when we surrender. My question is why on earth would you not want to paint the entire picture? For example the 1st surrender is marvelous God wraps His loving arms around you and everything appears to be all right with the world. Yet a 2nd and 3rd attempt will render the same results. Now let's sprinkle that with a 5th attempt however, this time the scriptures become in a sense "open" you notice that just before your 5th attempt life went a little haywire and the "thing or situation" you needed to surrender from not only increased but got worse. Now on this 5th attempt you find that surrender is not quite so easy as the firs time.
This is point that also needs to be addressed and defined. What this writer is speaking to are equally opposite force that would not want you to surrender to God. If you think that force will sit back and quietly SURRENDER to your surrender you are sadly mistaken. That lower force will convene with his prodigies and set out to put cracks in your sidewalk as you walk back into the light. He will move stop signs from corners that you once knew existed, so that when you get to the corner of Change St and Maybe Avenue you don't see the Stop sign and you may get hit by another destructive person, place or situation.
Know this when you read those great "you must surrender to God" articles and /or the latest and greatest book always remember for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Oh but wait a second we are not simply talking about Newton's law of motion - know this there is a real negative insatiable force that must be dealt with and dealt with only through the Word of God.
Romans 8:31 states If God is for us, who can be against us.

Prayer Request
None of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself . . .Acts 20:24
It is easier to serve or work for God without a vision and without a call, because then you are not bothered by what He requires.
So very true I acknowledge that I'm where God wants me and yet and still my fleshy desires for the old way of life (more lucrative) still nags at me yet every day when I leave my (humble) position, I'm so very filled with joy that I may have (through my pain, suffering, trials and tribulations) I may have helped change the trajectory of a young person's life.
Please pray for my deliverance (of all things that are not of God).. the more I try to hold on the the acknowledgement that I'm right where God wants me the more (he) comes and presents things of the past that will hinder my ability to get to my place EVERYDAY.
Lord Have Mercy I can't throw in towel now, I did that before and He threw it back at me...
