British Rule - Follow the Money

In the VA Charter the King declared sovereignty over the land and the subjects. He declared the amount of gold, silver and copper he was to receive and his heirs and successors were to received the same amount. This is still valid today. We were taught America defeated the king in the Revolutionary War not true. If the war was over in 1781 how does the king grant rights to America when we should be in equal status maintaining control over Canada, Spain and Florida?
When Cornwallis surrendered to Washington he revealed that "a holy war will now begin in America.."
